The 1036A from Genelec is a powerful active monitoring system designed to be used as the main monitor in a large control room. The speaker enclosure houses two 18" bass drivers, two 5" midrange drivers, and a 1" tweeter to provide a full, detailed frequency response. The midrange drivers and the tweeter are housed in Genelec's unique Directivity Control Waveguide, which provides terrific imaging and balance. The DCW can be rotated, allowing you to mount the speaker in a vertical or horizontal position.
The cabinet is designed to be flush mounted in a wall or used as a freestanding speaker. The electronics are housed in a separate rack unit, and include four separate amplifiers that provide a total combined power of 3100W. Each amplifier unit has a three-channel active crossover and tone controls that allow you to adjust the speaker to match your acoustic environment. Protection circuitry helps to prevent damage caused by overloading or overheating.
